Parametrically Designed Knit Fitness Footwear
This project introduces innovative knit footwear tailored for studio activities like Pilates, barre, and yoga, seamlessly blending comfort, style, and functionality. Through the integration of knit components and KPU (Kurim Polyurethane), a stretchable cage structure forms, ensuring a secure, flexible fit that enhances balance and flexibility during movement-based workouts. Utilizing Grasshopper, a Rhino 3D plugin, enabled the creation of optimized parametric patterns for the KPU treatment, resulting in a shoe that's both robust and exceptionally comfortable.
The final design was realized with Keyshot, a real-time rendering program, highlighting intricate patterns and the tactile knit quality, providing a vivid visual representation of the footwear's aesthetic appeal and innovation. By leveraging advanced technology and material innovation, this project pushes the boundaries of footwear design, delivering both performance and style for studio-based activities.
